The Ring
Also, we told Shanghai's mom and partner last night. She got teary eyed and he wanted to know if Muh was expecting. He was joking. I think.
Shanghai and I also had a little 'discussion' about what we needed in terms of new furniture and where it was going to go. Better on the train than in IKEA, which I'm beginning to suspect is actually Swedish for suddenly single.
And finally, the off the top of our head list for venues. Some of there are prolly out of our price range, and lots are so unconventional they might prove to be impractical and/or impossible. But consider the amount of times you yourself have considered me impractical and/or impossible. Where C=ceremony, D=dinner and R=reception:

Palais Royale could be trick as Shanghai just got word of some dude starting some kinda 7 figure reno on the place. Plus I added 3 more to the list.
The Gladstone is horrible. Horrible. Horrible horrible horrible. Also drafty. Did I mention horrible?
I will, however, attend wherever you choose to have your various events.
unfortunately col i must disagree. we was there last night to see gardens faithful, and it was kinda nice and getting nicer. for starters it's got AC. (maybe more important right now than at wedding time...) also the reno work they're doing is looking extremely pretty. the exposed brick looks great. also they're replacing windows and mouldings around them, and there are new doorways. so far the mouldings are gorgeous. they've used a really grainy poplar which means it's got great patterns and if they stain it instead of painting it could be made to look like a very expensive wood like walnut if they want to. they haven't got all the mouldings and chair rails and stuff put in yet but i'm looking forward to seeing it all when they do. i might even make a point of going to more shows there just to keep up...
The one report I have (from a colleague) of a wedding reception being held there was very positive. We also won't be cramming people in like they do at Canzine - if it's too small, we won't do it.
